Aimee Farr - Executive Director

Aimee started her PlayWrite journey in May 2019 when she was hired by Founder Bruce Livingston as an Administrative Assistant. She became part of the shared leadership team that took over PlayWrite upon his retirement in 2021. Aimee was grateful and humbled to be named to the position of Executive Director in 2024.

Aimee’s parents would say her theatrical journey began shortly after birth when, to their amusement and puzzlement, she demonstrated an affliction of confidence and the need to perform on stage. Pursuing her passion, Aimee received a BA in Theatre Performance Acting and Directing from Idaho State University. Moving to Boise, Idaho, she acted for various theatre companies including The New Heritage Theatre Company, Boise Little Theatre, Stagecoach Theatre, and Daisy’s Madhouse. She served as Board President of Daisy’s Madhouse for over three years, where she co-founded Will Act 4 Food (WA4F), a 24-hour play festival and beloved local fundraiser for the Idaho Foodbank that endures to this day. (She has since modeled PlayWrite’s annual PLAY-a-Thon after WA4F.) Aimee returned to school in 2013 to get her MBA in the hopes of someday managing a theatrical nonprofit. She moved to Portland in 2015 and is thrilled that her dream has come true. Aimee is earnestly working with PlayWrite’s board and staff to ensure the organization’s financial stability and growth.
